plan twice, dig once...

So if you have followed this blog at all, you know I'm a stickler for planning. I draw out a plan at least three times before I put it in play. However, gardening is an endeavor that is 25% plan, 60% work, and 15% adjustment of plan. While frustrating at times, I think that is also one of joys of gardening; if you don't like it-move it. If it isn't performing where you first place it, try somewhere else. Evolution also comes into play. A plan may be great, but you are seldom done when the last plant is in the ground. Somehow from year to year, your eye or perspective changes, and more work needs to be done. This year I have written a list of all the plants I'm going to buy and where they are going. Today alone, I purchased two shrubs that weren't on my list. I guess I'm a true gardener-whatever that means.
